The Ministry's Director of Public Relations and Media, Brigadier General Muqdad Miri, told the official agency, as monitored by the Iraqi News website, that "efforts to curb these deviant phenomena in society, including the so-called Qurban group, have achieved remarkable progress. Several agencies, particularly intelligence agencies, have been tasked with seriously monitoring the issue." He added, "The security services have succeeded in carrying out targeted strikes and apprehending the leaders of gangs working to spread this phenomenon. Tracking and prosecution are still ongoing." He pointed out that "the causes of these phenomena are numerous, including a lack of awareness and sometimes the exploitation of internal or external entities to spread such acts." He added, "We need a thorough investigation to uncover the true motives, and we will pursue these groups wherever they are, with full force."
