Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani is sponsoring the two-day Iraq Investment Forum in Baghdad, which will showcase more than 160 promising investment opportunities across various sectors. In his speech, Al-Sudani welcomed the participants in the forum and their presence in Baghdad, in light of the development and reconstruction that Iraq is witnessing. He also announced investment opportunities amounting to (450) billion dollars in various sectors, expressing his thanks to those in charge of this forum, foremost among them the National Investment Commission, the Iraqi Economic Council, and all the supporting and participating parties. Al-Sudani affirmed the government's intention to amend the Joint Stock Companies Law and the Holding Companies Law, adding provisions to support small and medium-sized enterprises and private funds, in addition to increasing the pace of digitizing government procedures to reduce bureaucracy, completing banking reforms, and raising Iraq's credit rating to reduce interest rates and insurance on projects undertaken in Iraq.

An expanded international conference in New York on ending Al-Hawl camp
The largest international conference on ending Al-Hawl camp was held in New York and urged countries to withdraw their nationals from the camp in preparation for its closure. 180 countries, 25 international organizations, 11 international organizations, and 8 civil society organizations participated in the expanded conference. Iraq was represented at the conference by a high-level Iraqi government delegation, headed by the President of the Republic and membership Minister of Foreign Affairs And National Security Advisor And the Minister of Immigration And the Supreme Judicial Council And the Prime Minister's Office And the heads of international and governmental technical groups working in the Al-Hawl camp file to restore Iraqi families from northeastern Syria to Iraq. Holding the conference represents the first event of its kind in the world regarding the Al-Hawl camp file and the implementation of the Iraqi government’s decision to dismantle the camp and end its existence. The conference also strengthens Iraq’s international standing and confirms the international community’s continued support for Iraq. The conference addresses three important topics: informing the world of the threat that Al-Hawl camp represents to international peace and security, highlighting Iraq’s successful experience in repatriating its families from the camp, and urging the remaining countries to withdraw their nationals from the camp, in preparation for closing it and ending its existence.

Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani received on Wednesday the Iraqi citizens recently released by Saudi authorities, following high-level coordination between the Iraqi government and the Saudi side. His Excellency welcomed the released citizens upon their return to the homeland with the official government delegation on a private plane. He affirmed that the government will undertake to care for their affairs and monitor their conditions until they stabilize. His Excellency commended the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's stance and initiative, and expressed his appreciation for Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, who issued a royal pardon following the bilateral meeting they held during the recent emergency Arab and Islamic summit in Doha. Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani sponsored the launch ceremony of Iraq's Vision 2050 for Development and the Future, with a wide attendance that included leaders of state institutions, heads of government agencies, representatives of the private sector, ambassadors and diplomats from foreign and international missions accredited to Iraq, in addition to a number of academics, experts, and media professionals. His Excellency praised the efforts of the National Committee for Strategies in preparing this vision, for which the government took the initiative to form the first concepts in March 2023, and by focusing on major national axes, most notably the establishment of a productive, living society, a diverse and sustainable sovereign development economy, a smart and rational government, and a balanced regional and international positioning.Making youth the focus and goal, relying on digital monitoring bodies, long-term funding mechanisms in partnership between the public and private sectors, and effective international cooperation. Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani today inaugurated the rehabilitated and expanded Baghdad-Mosul entrance, in the presence of Parliament Speaker Mahmoud al-Mashhadani, the Mayor of Baghdad, the Governor of Baghdad, the Deputy Director of the Prime Minister's Office, and a number of local officials. The Prime Minister and the Speaker of Parliament visited the weigh station to inspect the work and follow up on the procedures for monitoring truck traffic. They stressed the need for drivers to adhere to the specified weight throughout the country and not to tamper with it, and to implement overloading laws to limit damage to roads and infrastructure.Emphasizing that it is incorrect to spend money and rehabilitate entrances and roads without monitoring the weights of truck loads. During his visit, he emphasized that developing the capital's entrances is a priority for the federal government, local governments, and the Baghdad Municipality, and must be completed as quickly as possible. He noted that developing the entrances, along with congestion relief projects and the Fourth Ring Road, will lead to the development required by a modern transportation network. Al-Sudani explained that significant efforts are being made by everyone, particularly by current and former governors, to complete this project. He emphasized that the reconstruction campaign taking place in Iraq has given our engineers the experience and ability to complete projects to the highest standards. He thanked the citizens for their patience and endurance throughout the project. He also explained that the government has a huge number of projects, based on an assessment of the service situation and all the districts and sub-districts in the country. For his part, the Speaker of Parliament expressed his thanks to the government of Mr. Al-Sudani for its efforts in the field of services and reconstruction, indicating that the achievement represents a step towards other projects that will serve citizens in Baghdad and the governorates. He explained that the government, from day one, affirmed its approach based on competencies and technocrats, and launched the project of rebuilding the modern state in a manner befitting its ancient history.Emphasizing the House of Representatives' keenness to support it, as success in providing security, economic, and social services is the foundation for stability on the street. It is worth noting that the entrance development works are to widen the main road to become 16m instead of 12m, and 8m for each lane, and it was completed according to the highest technical specifications to increase the road’s capacity, in addition to completing the entire road body for the outward and return lane with a length of 38 km for each side, with the construction of (21) pedestrian bridges and (4) overpasses for cars.

The Ministry of Interior announced the implementation of targeted strikes against the leaders of the deviant Qurban group.
