Al-Sudani delivers a message following the conclusion of the electoral celebration

News

Once again, our noble Iraqi people — in all their fraternal diversity and in every corner of our beloved homeland — have achieved a remarkable step forward, advancing toward greater stability, success, and the consolidation of a democratic system that truly reflects their free constitutional will and their aspiration to continue building and strengthening the institutions of the state. With the successful organization and implementation of the sixth parliamentary elections, through their legal and executive mechanisms and in accordance with our permanent Iraqi Constitution, the government has fulfilled one of its most significant commitments outlined in its executive program. It has also upheld the constitutional timelines and necessary obligations to ensure the peaceful transfer of power, reaffirming that the authority to form the government rests with the free choices of the Iraqi people. On this occasion, I extend my deepest appreciation, gratitude, and respect to every patriotic Iraqi citizen who participated and expressed his or her confidence in the nation’s path by casting a vote at the ballot box—believing in the challenging road of democracy, for which Iraqis have made immense sacrifices beyond measure. My thanks also go to the legislative and judicial authorities, to our heroic armed forces in all their branches and formations, to the Independent High Electoral Commission, to the national political forces, to all popular movements, social leaders, civil society organizations, media outlets and journalists, and representatives of international organizations—for their professional dedication, participation, support, and assistance, which played a decisive role in ensuring the success of the voting process. May God protect Iraq and its people. Mercy and eternal honor to all the martyrs of Iraq who gave their lives for democracy, freedom, and the building of our state.

The people of Hawi Al-Kanisah in eastern Mosul are prohibited from building, despite their issue being resolved by a decision

Here is a clear and accurate English translation in a news-style tone: The residents of Hawi Al-Kanisah in western Mosul are still prohibited from building, despite their case having been settled by an official decision. Residents of the area have called on officials to visit this forgotten spot on Mosul’s land and witness their suffering firsthand. While residents of the area, located on the western bank, confirmed that they possess nothing more than their daily sustenance, the municipality reassured those banned from building through a statement. Finally, will the appeals of the residents of Hawi Al-Kanisah find attentive ears, or will the poetic verse apply to them: “You have made yourself heard, had you called upon the living — but there is no life in those you call”?

Prime Minister Mohammed Shia’ Al-Sudani inaugurated the cancer drug manufacturing plant, costing $45 million, at the Modern Pharmaceutical Industries Company, one of the private sector’s projects. He also launched the executive works for the project to produce viral vaccines for hepatitis, influenza, and the triple vaccine (mumps, polio, and rubella), at a cost of $70 million. Al-Sudani congratulated the opening of this plant, which is distinguished by high specifications and modern equipment from top global manufacturers, making it one of the most advanced factories in the Middle East. He pointed to its role in strengthening pharmaceutical security. He confirmed that his second visit to this site represents a message of support for the path of localizing pharmaceutical manufacturing, which the government initiated upon its formation three years ago. He stressed the government's support for medicine producers and the private sector, describing them as true partners in achieving self-sufficiency in pharmaceuticals. The newly inaugurated cancer drug plant will provide essential treatments for cancer patients inside Iraq. In its first phase, it will produce oral cancer treatments (tablets and capsules) for patients with gastrointestinal, lung, urinary tract, blood, and gland cancers. The second phase will include the establishment of the injectable cancer drug manufacturing facility, planned to be completed before the end of 2026. Additionally, eight essential cancer medications have been registered, and agreements have been made on two additional substances with reputable international companies to begin local production in accordance with officially approved stages with the Ministry of Health.
